Hospital Play Specialist Chat Room on Yahoo

http://uk.groups.yahoo.com/groups/Hospitalplayspecialists/

This international group is aimed at hospital play and child life specialists, hospital play and child life students, play workers, play assistants and anyone interested in the hospital play profession.

The group was started in May 2005 by a hospital play specialist student, Katie Hill, who is now a qualified and practising hospital play specialist. It now has many members from the UK as well as countries across the world, including the USA, Canada, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and Italy.

The group provides an opportunity to share ideas and knowledge about equipment, activities and training sessions.  Members of the group can post questions on the site for others to respond to and also reply to questions posted.  There is a list of links to other related websites. Members can also set up polls about subjects that are important to them, enabling other professionals to vote according to their opinion.

HPSforum e-listserver

The HPSforum listserver is being established in 2005, and stems from the current listserver being utilised in Australia and New Zealand. This original listserver was established in 2000 and has been a fantastic way for Hospital Play Specialists across Australia and New Zealand to communicate.

The HPSforum listserver is designed as a forum for communication between Hospital Play Specialists. It provides a way of allowing increased contact between members across the three associations, including an opportunity to ask a whole group of people for advice, not just the few people that are based in your hospital. This is particularly useful for those with specialist caseloads, and for those who are working independently and don't have regular contact with other members.

Members can pose questions and forward any activities that have been successful, or ideas that they think could be useful to others. If you find or know of any great resources that others might be able to use you can inform members of these through the listserver.

This listserver has been designed as a closed list, so only members of the Australian/ New Zealand/ UK Hospital Play Specialist Associations will be able to be members, and thus access and receive the emails from the listserver.
